How to turn 360 feedback into a development plan
Most 360 programs stop at the report. This guide describes how to move from themes to action—the workflow Capablio is designed to support.
1. Start with themes, not scores
Read aggregated strengths and development opportunities first. Ignore single-number rankings as performance verdicts; use themes as hypotheses to discuss with a coach or mentor.
2. Compare perspectives
Note where self-assessment diverges from manager, peer, or report groups. Divergence is a reflection prompt, not a label.
3. Choose one or two priorities
Leaders make faster progress with one clear objective per cycle. Capablio sample reports demonstrate prioritizing stakeholder communication or delegation—not ten goals at once.
4. Translate priorities into behaviors
Ask: What would someone see me doing differently in two weeks? Write behaviors that are observable, not abstract traits.
5. Define evidence
Evidence might include a recurring digest, a delegated decision forum, or incident review changes. Schedule check-ins to review evidence—not to re-score the person.
6. Request focused follow-up feedback
After 60–90 days, run a short pulse on the priority themes only. This is more useful than waiting a year for another full 360.
7. Protect confidentiality throughout
Share development plans selectively. Aggregated feedback themes and private development work serve different audiences—keep that boundary explicit.
